If you are visiting Portland and the surrounding areas why not organise a guided walking tour to see Portland's breathtaking sights and get the most from its rich past and present.

The Isle of Portland is a Royal Manor, and over the course of your walk you will see for yourself some of the rights and privileges awarded to the Island and it's residents from the Portland Court Leet which has run an unbroken line on the Island since Roman times (for information on the Portland Court Leet click on the Portland Walks Site Map) .
Portland is also home to three Lighthouses, Trinity Lighthouse at Portland Bill is one of the few remaining working Lighthouses and at the Visitor Centre you can see inside the lighthouse and enjoy the panoramic views from the tower.
The Isle of Portland is world renowned for its limestone, some of the famous buildings built by Portland Stone include St Paul's Cathedral designed by Christopher Wren and the Whitehall Cenotaph.

Portland Walks offer accompanied walks and rambles for all standards of fitness, ranging from an hour long 'stroll' to full day 'hikes'. For those with less stamina an island bus service will take the strain for your return journey or the "final leg"
For the more energetic, a full or half day option is available with some trails and walks off the beaten track. However, all walks take full advantage of the dramatic views of the harsh Portland Coastline.
Refreshment breaks are available en route and will be taken in local hostelries and cafes including the Lobster Pot Restaurant and The Pulpit Public House located at Portland Bill or the Cove House Inn perfectly situated on Chesil beach at Chiswell.
